Professional Engineer - Project Manager

About the Role:
We are looking for an experienced and licensed Civil or Structural Engineer to take on a key role as a Structural Project Manager. This position is ideal for a professional who thrives on managing dynamic projects and leading small technical teams. You’ll work across a wide range of sectors—including residential, commercial, educational, and renewable energy—bringing high-level expertise and strong leadership to each phase of the project lifecycle.


Primary Responsibilities:

  • Manage multiple engineering projects from concept to completion, ensuring alignment with client goals and technical standards

  • Supervise and mentor a small team of engineers and CAD technicians (1–3 direct reports)

  • Conduct structural analysis, load calculations, and create detailed designs

  • Interpret contracts, scopes of work, and prepare/approve change orders

  • Monitor project timelines, deliverables, and budget compliance

  • Serve as the main point of contact for clients, consultants, and internal stakeholders

  • Support continuous process improvements and maintain quality control


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Architectural Engineering with a structural focus

  • Active California P.E. license (Civil or Structural)

  • Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in structural engineering design and analysis

  • Background in managing or leading project teams

  • Proficiency in structural systems related to wood, steel, and concrete

  • Software skills: AutoCAD (2015 or newer), RISA, Enercalc, Microsoft Office Suite, Bluebeam, and Adobe

  • Experience working in any combination of residential, commercial, educational, or solar projects
