Our client, a prominent global law firm, is seeking a seasoned Manager for Leaves and Accommodations within the Talent Management department. This position, which reports directly to the Director of Talent Management, plays a crucial role in overseeing both U.S. and international leave policies, accommodation determinations, workers’ compensation, and certain aspects of U.S. benefits administration.
Key Responsibilities:
• Act as the subject matter expert on global leaves of absence, accommodations, and compliance programs.
• Provide leadership and direction, ensuring alignment with the firm's strategic goals and adherence to legal standards.
• Develop and oversee policies and initiatives related to leaves, accommodations, and workers’ compensation.
• Ensure compliance with relevant legal requirements such as FMLA, ADA, and COBRA.
• Lead the firm's workers' compensation program, manage claims, and coordinate with legal counsel as needed.
• Handle administrative functions including payroll oversight and policy documentation for employees on leave.
• Collaborate on ergonomic assessments and ADA accommodations.
• Develop and implement process improvements and control measures to align team performance with business objectives.
• Maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion in handling sensitive employee information.
Proficiencies Required:
• Expertise in employment laws related to leave and accommodations.
• In-depth knowledge of benefits administration and payroll systems, with a preference for experience in Workday and ADP Vantage.
• Strong computer skills, particularly in Microsoft Excel and other Office applications.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or a related field; industry certification preferred.
• Minimum of 7 years in leave of absence administration, with at least 3 years in a supervisory role.
• Experience in a professional services or legal environment is highly desirable.
This role is integral to supporting the firm's dynamic and diverse workforce and requires a candidate with proven experience in managing complex HR functions.
Skills and Certifications [note: bold skills and certification are required]

Expert knowledge of employment/leave of absence/ADA accommodation-related laws and practices
•
Expert knowledge of leaves of absence administration;
•
Fundamental knowledge of benefit programs and general payroll concepts
•
Fundamental proficiency in Workday (preferred) or other human resource management systems
•
Fundamental proficiency in payroll systems (e.g.: ADP Vantage)
•
Advanced knowledge of related regulations (i.e., COBRA, HIPAA-HITECH, Section 125, qualifying family
•
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, preferably in Human Resources or other Business related
•
At least 7 years of experience in leave of absence administration (required)
•
At least 3 years of supervisory experience & at least 3 years in professional services or legal
