Sales Director
Reports to: President Department: Sales
Job Summary:
The sales director manages a set of customer accounts as well as a target list of new accounts. The director is the main point of contact for accounts, responsible for managing pricing, presenting new products, analyzing sales trends, and preparing forecasts for production.
Essential Functions:
1) Build and execute annual sales and marketing plan
2) Assess market potential and identify new business opportunities
3) Monitor the competitive landscape and market conditions to identify opportunities, issues, and risks in order to recommend tactical strategies
4) Develop, recommend and implement profitable sales strategies
5) Align sales strategy with company goals
6) Drive customer satisfaction by building trust through professional relationships with assigned customers and prospects
7) Negotiate contracts as needed
8) Develop & implement product pricing
9) Recommend and support new product development
10) Evaluate market reaction to advertising and promotions
11) Participate in customer and industry trade shows
12) Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications and participating in professional organizations
13) Willingness to travel for customer visits, training, team meetings or events
Qualifications:
1) College degree in Business, Communications, or related field preferred
2) Experience in sales plan development, account management and reporting
3) Previous experience selling technical products
