Our client is seeking a Customer Support Technician to serve as the face of the company’s cutting-edge equipment and services for customers across the Western half of North America. This is a high-visibility role that blends technical know-how, customer relationship building, and hands-on problem solving at some of the most advanced mine sites in the industry.
When not traveling, you’ll work from a fully equipped home office, backed by a dedicated support team. On the road, you’ll handle commissioning, maintenance, training, and troubleshooting, ensuring our customers experience the very best in service and reliability.
What You’ll Do
• Commission & Maintain: Install, service, and monitor specialized mining equipment at customer sites.
• Troubleshoot & Repair: Diagnose issues, perform repairs, and conduct fault-finding to keep operations running smoothly.
• Train & Educate: Deliver expert training to mine site personnel on the safe and efficient use of our technology.
• Inspect & Prevent: Carry out Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) to detect and address potential failures before they happen.
• Collaborate & Support Sales: Work with the Customer Support Manager to recommend spare parts, assist in sales follow-ups, and ensure timely order completion.
• Report & Communicate: Capture customer feedback, complete service documentation, and maintain accurate timesheets.
What You Bring
Required:
• Journeyman-level qualification in Crane Technology, Diesel Mechanics, Electrical, or similar trade.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work confidently at all organizational levels.
• Outgoing, customer-focused personality with a proactive approach to building relationships.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, especially in documentation.
• Solid IT skills (Microsoft Office proficiency).
• Ability to meet all mine site access requirements, including medical clearance.
Preferred:
• Tertiary qualification in Engineering or related discipline.
• Experience in the hard rock mining industry (1+ year).
• Familiarity with mine site operations and grinding mill maintenance (especially relining).
• Established network within the North American mining sector.
Licenses & Requirements
• Valid U.S. or Canadian driver’s license with clean driving record.
• Ability to obtain an unrestricted international driver’s license.
• Valid passport and ability to travel freely within the U.S., Canada, and Mexico.
