Human Resources Generalist

Reports to:     HR Manager                       

Job Summary:
The HR Generalist will be responsible for supporting a wide range of human resources functions, including recruitment, employee relations, benefits administration, compliance, safety, and training. This role plays a key part in fostering a positive workplace culture while ensuring adherence to OSHA regulations, labor laws, and HR best practices. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of HR operations and be able to effectively support organizational initiatives that drive employee engagement and business success.

Essential Functions:

1)    Assist in the development, implementation, and enforcement of and HR policies and procedures 
2)    Facilitate the onboarding process to ensure a seamless experience for new employees 
3)    Oversee the administration of the employee safety program, ensuring compliance with workplace safety regulations 
4)    Support performance management initiatives, including appraisals and development plans 
5)    Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations 
6)    Coordinate and facilitate training sessions, workshops, and professional development programs 
7)    Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive HR matters with discretion and professionalism
8)    Research and assist in implementing industry best practices
9)    Manage leave programs, including FMLA, short-term disability (STD), and long-term disability (LTD)
10)    Assist in the maintenance and administration of the HRIS system
11)    Support various HR initiatives aimed at employee engagement, retention, and organizational development 
12)    Assist in developing and executing departmental and company-wide strategic HR initiatives
13)    Other duties as assigned 

Qualifications:
1)    Three years of experience as a HR Generalist or related experience
2)    One or more years of manufacturing experience
3)    Degree in Human Resources or related field 
4)    Strong interpersonal and communication skills 
5)    Proficient in HR software and Microsoft Office Suite 
6)    Strong problem-solving and organizational skills

Skill Set/Knowledge Required:
1)    Knowledge of Employment Laws 
2)    Strong customer service orientation 
3)    Strong verbal and written communication skills
4)    Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment 
5)    Team player with excellent interpersonal skills
6)    HR certification a plus
