What you will be doing
Engineer and sustain cloud, on-premises and hybrid architectures, integrating Azure Cloud services with on-premise Hyper-V environments.
Lead comprehensive migrations to Azure, encompassing Windows server, SQL infrastructure, and Microsoft Exchange to Microsoft 365 transitions.
Employ Microsoft Cloud Adoption Framework (CAF) for strategic cloud implementation.
Develop automation scripts and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using PowerShell, ARM Templates, and Terraform.
Manage CI/CD processes via Azure DevOps to support continuous integration and deployment.
Support and administer Microsoft Active Directory (AD) and Microsoft Entra ID, including user management and Group Policy.
Implement and oversee ADFS, Azure MFA for seamless SSO capabilities.
Configure and refine Hyper-V setups for optimal performance and reliability.
Hands on work in our San Diego based Datacenter. Strong familiarity with underlying hardware including Hyper-V clusters, SAN/3PAR storage, HCI clusters. Maintain hardware, plan upgrades and ensure High Availability for all workloads.
Administer Windows servers, ensuring system health and security.
Monitor both Azure and on-premise infrastructures with Azure Monitor and Microsoft System Center suite, respectively.
Maintain compliant backups for all machines on-premises and Azure. Review backup schedules plus (RTO/RPO), ensure redundancy in backup infrastructure and protection of backups.
Manage SQL Server databases, ensuring their performance, availability, and security.
Facilitate cross-team collaboration to meet technical and business requirements.
Maintain adherence to security standards and industry best practices.
Resolve complex system issues efficiently and maintain comprehensive documentation.
Keep abreast of new Microsoft technologies and recommend enhancements.
Our expectations of you
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
Minimum of 10 years of experience with Azure Cloud services, Hyper-V (and VMware) infrastructure.
Solid experience in executing infrastructure migrations to Azure, including in-depth knowledge of migrating on-premises Windows and SQL Server environments, and Microsoft Exchange to Microsoft 365.
Demonstrated expertise working within an MSP (Managed Service Provider) environment.
Proficiency in managing Microsoft Active Directory (AD), ADFS, Hyper-V, Microsoft System Center platform, SQL Server, Exchange Server, and Microsoft Azure cloud services.
Strong understanding of core networking principles, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, and firewalls.
Proficiency with PowerShell scripting for automation and complex configuration management tasks.
Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve intricate infrastructure issues with effective and timely solutions.
Extensive knowledge of security best practices and the ability to implement robust security measures within an infrastructure.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the capacity to work collaboratively with team members and stakeholders.
Self-starter with the ability to work independently and manage priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Commitment to providing support during US business hours for a United States-based clientele.
Preferred Qualifications
Microsoft Azure Certifications (Cloud Solution Architect or equivalent)
Microsoft certifications such as MCSE (Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert) or MCSA (Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate).
Experience with data centers using Microsoft Server operating systems including clustering.
Linux operating system experience
Experience with Azure DevOps or other CI/CD tools.
Familiarity with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
Experience supporting infrastructure running legacy Microsoft Dynamics applications, including CRM, AX, NAV, or Dynamics 365 on-premise, is a plus.
